educationwise provides both information resources and details about services and support to the education and training community. BROXBOURNE SOLUTIONS is proud to be a part of educationwise

On the subject of e-Assessment or computer based assessment and testing (CBT&A). We use a broad definition to cover all aspects of the use of computers and management information systems to provide assessment tools, and support assessment within a course of study or as the end result of that course of study.

It is not a sales pitch for individual packages and companies, but this site rather looks at basic issues involved in developing a CBT&A capability within an educational institution, a training environment or the workplace.

It is there concerned with subjects such as

  • the costs and benefits of computer based assessment
  • the social, political and cultural issues raised
  • the types of assessment that can be carried out
  • the technical and technological hurdles to be jumped
  • the range of products on the marketplace
  • how a project to buy or build a CBT&A resource should be managed
  • the process in contracting and managing suppliers to deliver CBT&A
  • the pitfalls to avoid, and the added value benefits to be gained.

The philosophy of this web site is quite simple. To provide ideas in a simple, easy to understand format.

Throughout out these pages examples of the different types of computer based assessment will be presented. Answering the questions in the blue boxes will take you to pages covering the subject in more details
